[thumb:347:r:s=1:l=x]In a continuation of the signs that Richard Childress Racing is returning to greatness, and worthy to be one of (if not the) story of 2006, Jeff Burton held on for his third pole of the year at Indy. RCR’s turnaround from recent years of struggling is nothing short of stunning. [thumb:168:r:s=1:l=x]While Indianapolis was real doll to Jimmie Johnson, and the bricks just as tasty, Indy showed her mean streak and created a nightmare that couldn’t be woken up from for others. Then again, for some it was a nonchalant kind of day that didn’t really tip either way. Further still, there were some that managed to trick her, and succeed.

[thumb:177:l:s=1:l=x]Indy wasn’t too kind to Jeremy Mayfield this year, further proving that the note for his withdrawal at the “Luck Bank” for appearing in the Chase both years has come due.

[image:364:l:s=1:l=http://thunderlounge.com/articles/nascar/features/the-way-i-see-it/]How much has NASCAR changed over the past 10 to 20 years??? More than a lot of people would like to admit. Heck, how about over the last 5 years? Has it all been good? Or has some of it taken the regulars away, and not just off the track?

[thumb:177:l:s=1:l=x]According to Nascar.com, when the entry list for Watkins Glen came out, Jeremy Mayfield wasn’t on it. Instead, listed as driving the #19 is one Mr. Awesome Bill. Before we dive into the particulars, this situation has a real bad potential to get ugly, and fast.
