Yes, free. Think of free beer.

Isn’t that something? You get a website, for free. Blog until your heart’s content. Need to add an image? Go right ahead.

What? You want more? You’d like a custom theme, a theme without an ad on it? Your own private domain name?!? Sure, we can handle that. During the first few weeks of 2007, we’ll be offering additional services for those who would like them. If you’re cool with your site the way it is, that’s fine with us! Use it ’til your hearts content. At it’s heart, our blogs will always be free. :)

Additional services currently under consideration include:

  • Individual domain names, per site
  • Priority support services
  • Ad-free themes
  • Custom themes for your site
  • Special additional functions for your site
  • Special widgets per site
  • Lots more in the works!

While we can’t guarantee everything will make it into the final result at the same time, these are but a few of the additional services you can expect to see implemented in the upcoming weeks and months.

What about new themes?

Ah yes, new themes. We’re glad you wondered about that. While upon initial launch of the Thunder Lounge Network and Community you’ll be able to choose from a library of over 20 themes, we aren’t stopping there. We’ll be adding new themes which are available to all users every few weeks. Have a special theme out there that you’d like to see? Strike up or join an existing conversation in our support forums, or drop us a line. See our FAQ for more information about themes, and how you can help the community grow!

Featured Bloggers

Each month, starting in February, the Thunder Lounge admin team will be selecting a blog to feature on our front page. In order to be considered for this prestigious position, you need to be actively blogging. We would consider (at least at this juncture) an active blog having an average of at least 3 or more posts a week. So the more you post, the better your chances.

Granted, just because you’ve posted the most doesn’t guarantee you the front page honor. However, if your blog is stale, you can guarantee you won’t be considered at all. Once we have a candidate selected, we’ll contact you to let you know!

Don’t forget your friends!

Bring your friends to Thunder Lounge! In the weeks ahead we’ll be offering you special coupon codes to hand out to your friends. When they register, they can add the code so you can get credit for the referral. We’ll be offering special features and prizes for our top monthly referrer, so have at it!

What, more friends?

OK, you talked us into it. Free with every Thunder Lounge account is the ability to maintain and display a list of your friends on the Thunder Lounge network! Search for friends, add them to your list, and then tell us how you want your list displayed. Only want to show the last 20 people added? OK. The last 30? No sweat. How about showing 10 random friends on every click? Certainly! 20 random friends? Sure, why not? It’s your list, so have at it.

In addition to this we’ll be rolling out a feature where if you’re logged into the network, and the person has made it available, you’ll be able to click a link on their site and add them to your friends list automatically!
