Biffle Smokes Darlington, Dances With The Lady In Black

[thumb:160:r:s=1:l=x]In what was another awesome run, and finally a break in their favor, Greg Biffle captured a back to back sweep at the track to tough to tame.
In a dueling battle throughout the night, Greg Biffle ends up holding off Jeff Gordon in the final few laps to come home to his first win this season. This can only spell trouble for the competition. Reason being, is that just like the man he held off in the closing laps, Greg Biffle could easily go on one of his streaks and have another 3 or 4 victories before Daytona in July.
What gave Biffle the edge was the final pit stop of the night. Under green flag conditions, he pitted at just the right time to vault up a couple spots to the front when the cycle had completed. When a 3 second per lap difference between fresh rubber and old, timing is everything in a green flag sequence.
Other notable runs were Jimmie Johnson, Matt Kenseth, and Dale Earnhardt Jr who rounded out the top 5. Jeff Burton brought it home in 9th, his 3rd top 10 in the last 4 races, which also moved him to the coveted 10th spot in the standings.
Denny Hamlin was the highest finishing rookie in 10th, with Reed Sorenson right behind him in 11th.
Notable moves in the standings were Jeff Gordon, up 3 spots to 6th; Denny Hamlin up 3 spots to 13th; Greg Biffle jumped a whopping 6 spots to 14th and only 497 out of first; Robby Gordon also got a little bit of breathing room with a 4 spot jump up to 28th.
All in all, when the drivers were racing, the racing was as good as it gets. No photo finish this time around, but it certainly could have played out that way as the laps wound down.
