Wow. What a difference a year makes. Hero to Zero in 36 races or less.

Kasey Kahne is in the column of drivers wanting to forget 2007 ever happened. After an impressive 6 wins in 2006, he cracked the Top-5 just one time in 2007. Yet we have another sad tale from the Dodge camp. The difference is that if anyone is going to figure out these Dodge nameplates, it’s Evernham.

From a season that saw Kahne in all kinds of “positions”, including bent over the back of a car, looking at the pack from the back, and even being accused of having an altercation with a security guard at Homestead, 2007 was a year of making payments to the Luck Bank.

Looking forward to 2008, Kahne brings Budweiser onto the hood, presumably more sponsorship funding along with it, and the hopes that come Richmond in May the 2007 season will all seem like a bad dream.
