[thumb:362:l:s=1:l=x]According to the Associated Press, Gene Haas was released on a bail set at $10 million. Haas was originally held without bail because he was portrayed by the prosecution as a severe flight risk. This was due to Haas having private jets, business interests in China, and China not having an extradition policy for the related charges. Haas will be arraigned on June 26th, where he is expected to enter a plea of not guilty. In the meantime Haas was required to turn in his passport, but is allowed to travel on business and to races within the US borders. The court must approve of the travel prior to it taking place. Haas maintains his innocence, and is preparing for a big fight in court.

While granted, this deal is about the main company, and not the company that “owns” the race teams, I still think that if I were a sponsor, I could find a “better buy”.

Maybe not, at least for public consumption they have released a stement saying they were “happy” with the current situation.
But as I said that’s their “public face,” I bet they are stewing up a “pot of scorn” behind the scenes.

I’m sure they are. I would be, if my company name was anywhere close to it.
