The news has me steamed and I mean steamed. From our local news here in Virginia Beach to the National News. Jimmy “Pretty Boy” Johnson is in no way similar to Tony Stewart. All of these comparisons are annoying. Yes, I’m a Stewart fan so deal with it and admit this is ridiculous.

Jimmy Johnson our current Nascar Champ was injured this week while riding in a golf cart. He broke his wrist. Well as time went on and reporters dug for the dirt they discovered that Johnson was “horsing around” on top of the cart when he fell and broke his wrist. Oh, poor baby. He’ll miss the Paris race but still plans to fly over and support the other drivers. And of course he’ll be fit as a fiddle in time for Daytona.

I quote: “It’s the second consecutive year that NASCAR’s reigning champion has been injured during the off-season and Johnson is the second driver in less than a week to get hurt” from the FoxSports News website.

Guess who the first driver was, good ole Tony. However, my point here is the comparison is bogus. Many champions have been hurt in the off season, just go to FoxSports and read their newest article detailing everyone’s injuries and mishaps. To compare Johnson’s monkeying around to Stewarts injury is crap. Stewart was actually injured doing something legitimate, he flipped a Midget car during qualifications. He wasn’t playing with his friends on the golf course and didn’t try to cover up the story. The news reports that Johnson wasn’t trying to hide anything. If not, why in his first interview did he state that the driver took the turn to sharp and he fell out of his seat? Yet when the reporters dug and found out he was playing around on the top, Johnson is suddenly unavailable for comment. Busted!

With all of the radical changes NEXTEL has made to the Cup I have a vision of one to come. The Champion’s contract is going to be so tight that they aren’t going to be allowed to breathe without permission in an attempt to keep them physically safe and to not draw negative attention to the series. They are boys and boys like to play. I say let them just don’t make a big deal out of it when they screw up and don’t compare them to something they are not. It leaves smudges on the other driver.

Oh and latest breaking news just today: Jeff the Rainbow Warrior is adding one to his flock come July. Gee I didn’t even know they had exchanged prenups and vows yet.

  1. Um, but Peggy Sue, the only comparison I see is that they mention both JJ and flip-flop were injured in the off season after winning the title.

    Tis true ya know. ;)

  2. True, in that article. But in the news reports there was much more.
