Gordon Buying Yates Denied

[thumb:381:l:s=1:l=x]Jayski managed to get through to a representative of Robert Yates Racing, and they deny the report by LPN that RYR has been sold to Robby Gordon, saying that is not true and will not happen.
So, it appears the flame is out on this one. For now.
You know though, where there’s smoke there’s fire. Something had to happen for a credible radio show with over 1000 broadcasts to publish that story. What gives?
Unfortunately, as of this writing, the website in question is still rendering a “Site not available” page, that has a link for the “owner” to visit a Yahoo hosting help page that describes how they have recently started enforcing that their customers keep within their hosting plan limits.
And they just happened to implement that between the time Jayski found the article, and everyone else tried to view it? I doubt it. Most likely the yahoo platform can’t perform under the number of page requests, or something similar.
Either way, it’s a disappointment in not being able to read the full report for further analysis.
Stepping aside for a second, yahoo is lucky that their name is yahoo. Being curious, we took a look at their plans once we saw that it was 5 bucks to add another 50MB of space to an account.
It made us happy that we have who we do, and that their servers have been able to withstand several traffic spikes and weather them out with little effect.
Back on track, obviously if this is not a true report it is (news-wise) a little disappointing. Simply because it would have been such a huge story. Not just now, but for awhile. On the other hand, we still don’t know the true reason for the last minute cancellation of the Yates press conference at Indy, and it’s got to be something of pretty major significance. Reason being, as we’ve said, you don’t fly a guy’s family to Indy for nothing. It will be interesting to see how this whole Yates thing plays out over the coming weeks.
