I have never, ever, been so disgusted with a NASCAR performance as I am at this moment. The person who hired “Cowboy Crush”, or whatever their no-talent hacks who performed the National Anthem just a few minutes ago are called, should be fired.
That was the most wretched butchering of the National Anthem that I can remember. Yeah, it was worse than that jackass at the Truck race in Memphis a couple years back.
It’s the National Anthem. You don’t rewrite it to be cute, funny, or try to gain attention and whore out your “records”.
Way to screw up, HWSBO and Co. Way to go.
You, and those horrid “ladies”, here by earn the “Reaper” for the day.
Hell, you had Dirks there. HAVE HIM DO IT!

And to think I just blogged that I liked them. Oy vey! See…just as we talked about design…beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
What didn’t you like? I kinda thought the harmonies were good.

Well, other than the words, it was indistinguishable as our National Anthem.
It was a completely different melody, and just sounded horrid to my ears.
Harmonizing is one thing. I’ve heard it beautifully done with the Anthem. But with this, it wasn’t even the right notes. I’m OK with a little creative license, but not the entire thing to where the only thing in common with Mr. Keys is the lyrics.
To me, it just plain sucked, and was pretty disrespectful to the Nation.

You’ve got to be kidding! I thought cowboy Crush sounded AMAZING! I’ve been watching NASCAR for years and I believe it was one of the BEST renditions I have ever heard. Way to Go Girls!

Unfortunately, I wasn’t kidding Sarah.
It’s not like it was the TV speakers were bad on my end either. Had it in full surround sound, and the whole enchilada.
Maybe they’ll get a second shot sometime, and I’ll reevaluate then.
