[thumb:364:l:s=1:l=http://thunderlounge.com/articles/nascar/features/the-way-i-see-it/]The rumor mill has been going wild that Dodge is going to be pulling out of NASCAR. Leave Them Boys Alone. They are staying around for some time. Dodge hasn’t been know to just stick around for a few years and then bail. They are going to be here for sometime and that was confirmed at Daytona last weekend by Dr. Dieter Zetsche, chairman of DaimlerChrysler.

Look at the amount of money that they are making off NASCAR right now with Kasey Kahne and the other money that they are currently putting into the sport. They have invested who knows how much money into the top three series in NASCAR. But on another note look at the money that they spend sponsoring tracks on a local basis. By that I mean the Friday and Saturday night tracks that is the growth place of our up and coming drivers.

If Dodge was having that much money problems it might be understandable that they would be cutting back some of their sponsorship and things of that nature, but not to pull totally out of the sport.

I think before you see Dodge pull out that you will see Ford making major cut backs. After all Ford is scheduled to close a lot of it’s plants. In the process of being laid off due to cut backs, Ford will lose a lot of customers. Since they are already in a financial bind of such, then you may see them pulling out on some of the small teams and offering less factory support to some of the teams. Still, I don’t see them pulling out either unless they would go total belly up.

So leave my Dodge boys alone and let them have a little fun. No, they haven’t captured a championship just yet, but give them a couple years if Kasey can’t manage to wrap one up this year. Whether it has been seen in the stats or not, the Dodge camp has made some changes and are figuring things out. It won’t be long before they capture the top spot.

And… That’s The Way I See It!!
