[thumb:107:l:s=1:l=x]Pinks, yes I know, it’s not NASCAR as I’ve just been reminded but it is racing and sometimes a girl just wants to voice her opinion on what she sees.
Okay, yes I admit I’m a girly girl sometimes, maybe most of the time, but there’s a side to me that most people don’t know and it will shock most men that I know. But, the girly girl side of me had no idea what PINKS meant outside of a color until my husband introduced me to it.
Okay, so, as I get this you soup up a little beater car and take it to the race track. However the rules are set that night determine how many heats you run, the drivers bicker back and forth on who gets what but what it ultimately boils down to is the LOSER loses his car to the winner.
PINKS, okay, so you give up the car you sunk money into and play within these ridiculous rules. It just doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to a girl. The husband likes it so I watch it and tolerate it despite the fact that it really doesn’t help warm my blood. It is funny to watch these men argue and carry on over this short little race.
So, get this, we watched PINKS All Out the other day being run somewhere down in Texas on a race track. A huge race where they had hundreds and hundreds of entries and hundreds of races for the winner to win a large sum of money.
And Guess What? A girl won a girl okay. She was pretty good, I mean come on SHE won. And she won driving a truck, come on already, a girl and her truck beat out hundreds of other drivers. You know you men always underestimate us. Maybe that’s how the show or the whole idea got its name, PINKS. From some strong, good standing women who beat the socks off of a man.
Just imagine what would happen if NASCAR enticed women a little bit more. All of the old timers and way too comfortable men race car drivers just might be challenged a bit.
Anyway, it’s just my two cents. Off to my next thought the NASCAR awards banquet….
