[thumb:193:l:s=1:l=x]With current sponsorship struggles, and apparently a tough time finding funding for next season as well, Morgan-McClure and Scott Wimmer are parting ways. In what is apparently a mutual decision, there seems to not be any hard feelings about the split. Both parties cite the fact that both needed to move in different directions.
So far, an announcement has only been made as to the replacement for Talladega and Charlotte.
Strap them belts up a little tighter boys, Todd Bodine is coming back to the Cup Series. Given his track record in Cup, someones going to end up in the fence. Here’s to hoping that this isn’t the case, and his Truck Series stint has put some sense into his head. The fact that this replacement begins at Talladega has us even more on edge than if it were at another track.
Also announced this week was the replacement of Kevin Lepage in the #49 for BAM by one Mr. Mike Bliss. Mike’s been back running Trucks as well since his release from the #0 at Haas-CNC which was transitioned to the #66.
While these are definitely not top tier teams, it is yet another tiny part of Silly Season ‘06, and goes to show that anything can happen at any time.
We also don’t think that we’ve seen the end of this yet either. It has a feel to it like a pressure cooker, or an impending eruption of a volcano. A little smoke and fire escapes from time to time, and then it goes full bore.
