[thumb:166:l:s=1:l=x]Kevin Harvick had a good car at Watkins Glen today, and combined with a new engine package designed to give more torque and thus provide more power off the corner, Kevin Harvick was able to pass Tony Stewart back in the closing laps by coming off of turn 7 with confidence and power to allow him to complete the pass on the front straight before hitting turn 1. Kevin kept it together and hit his marks, and found his way into victory lane for the second time this season.
In other news coming out of the finish at Watkins Glen, Kurt Busch and Greg Biffle had rough days, and find themselves now 172 and 174 points out of 10th, respectively. Kasey Kahne is 54 back.
There were not any moves into or out of the top 10 this week, which is quite surprising. However, the distance third place was behind the leaders did pick up 57 points, as Johnson and Kenseth had less than stellar days. However, that being considered, 10th place actually lost 3 points overall, and is now 515 back from Johnson.
With only 153 points separating 4th from 10th, add another 45 points and include 3rd in that mix, this thing is far from settled. If the current trends continue, it’s shaping up to be one incredible nail biter at Richmond for a lot of teams. Especially for those just barely in or out when they take the green on that fateful Saturday night.
All in all, a good show for the road race. Now it’s on to Michigan, and keeping track of all the drama as the week progresses.
