[thumb:166:l:s=1:l=x]With the Busch Series making its return to Martinsville after a 12 year absence, going into Saturday’s race you just had to have your money placed on experience. If you did, and picked the right experienced driver, the return on your investment paid off.

Martinsville is a driver’s track. It is a finesse track. Some drivers have the knack, some appreciate the knack and do alright, and some just never grasp the concept.

On top of having the knack for the .526 mile paperclip oval, your car has to be hooked up to. Something that can’t be described, but a driver with the knack can feel.

Steven Wallace: Much to learn, young Jedi. Listen to your “Old Man” on this one, he knows the drill.

Darrell Waltrip: You know it, but that car was junk. In running to a 28th place finish, the results definitely didn’t live up to the hype from the past 4 months.

Lamar: Easy kiddo, watch your car owner and learn. No need to let the bull loose in the china hutch just yet.

David Green: how the heck did you pull off that “driving with the hood up”? Class act right there.

Kyle Busch: Amen on the comments bubba. You hit the nail on the head.

Carl Edwards: Once your nemesis, things are getting better and your patience is paying off. Gee whiz, that was better than a swim at Twin Oaks.

Denny Hamlin: Wasn’t that much better than watching from the grandstands? The force is strong with this one, the knack is brewing and a master he shall become.

Clint Bowyer: You could hear the cheers up and down I-35.

Finally, Kevin Harvick: Nice run, and a nice clock to boot. Where’d you hide those rails in the track? That car was flat out untouched in class, although Clint and Denny came close.

Like we couldn’t foresee one of the Cup drivers sitting in Victory Lane at the end of this one. The majority of Busch drivers just simply don’t have the experience at Martinsville, and this track demands it. and if you haven’t heard by now, Kevin Harvick took everyone to class and school was in session in the Busch race at Martinsville yesterday. It was pure racing, and more adrenaline than the “Running of the Bulls”.

Lot’s of “excuse me’s”, chrome horns, and beating and banging. When you bring your car back to the shop, you know that you took it racing. Note the amount of action, yet none of these BS “aggressive driving” penalties.

Maybe the field wasn’t the only ones getting schooled Saturday. It was also a lesson to the casual fans new to the sport. It wasn’t bumper cars, pinball, or anything of the sort. It was rubbing, and the rest of us all know what that is all about.
