Hope everyone is having a great holiday time, and getting a little R & R.
While one would think we would be doing the same thing, we’ve been prepping for 2007, which is just around the corner. OK, it’s a couple of days away now.
Where the heck did 2006 go? It seems like only yesterday that we were spattering about Knaus getting suspended, DJ jumping ship, and following the downward spiral of of the Mayfield Affair as the relationship with Evernham Motorsports was ripped apart like a bulldog chomping a steak.
Well, on to the tasks at hand.
First, we’re going to take the Lounge offline for a few hours tomorrow evening. We’ve got a few updates to do, and a little testing as well, so from our point of view it’s just going to be easier to take the entire site offline for a bit while we play with it. As a note, this will be sometime the evening of December 28th, sometime after 4pm CST (-6 GMT). Sorry for the minor inconvenience, but it won’t (hopefully) take too long. Hell, it could be worse… we could be running windoze!
Secondly, after talking to Frank earlier the snow plows finally made it to their area, although they are fixing to get hit again with more snow. Who’s bright idea was it to move to Denver? Hmmmm. Anyway, once his connection stabilizes long enough to do something other than download stuff from iTunes, he’ll get his stuff posted up.
Third, I’d like to give a warm, big, middle finger and a full moon to the sploggers out there. Hello, content sluts. Read the line at the bottom. It specifically says:

Get it through your heads, ya jackasses. We do take this crap seriously, and have aided and been responsible for getting many of your types shutdown, and will continue to do so in the future. We’ve got 2 such bastards in our sights right now, and the paperwork is already being drafted. And you thought retainers were just to fix a kid’s teeth. Guess again. Isn’t it unfortunate what this world has come to?
Back onto a positive note, vice the scum of the earth, we might have a surprise or two coming up here shortly. Yeah, we’ve teased about it recently, and perhaps part of the need for taking the site offline might have to do with one of them, but we’ll see what happens.
Anyway, we’ll get it back up and running as quickly as possible. We’ll let you know when it’s been completed. Once it’s running again, if you encounter a problem please contact us to let us know so we can correct it.
Thanks for 2006, and here’s to 2007 and all it will bring.

Well, we’ve managed to limp back to life a bit.
As I’m sure most of y’all can tell, I’m still tinkering with it.
Although, most everything should be somewhat back to normal.
Well, isn’t that lovely. Looks like I (had) broken comments a bit too. Oops. OK, so they still worked, but not like they do now.
At least they better…
Gee you’re lucky. Thunder Lounge is taken down by
choice. My site has been down for nearly 48 hours
over a “simple” server switch.

Is one of your sploggers nascarthunder? I had large
problems with him about 6 weeks ago.

I needed to do a little bit of maintenance on the box, revamp the codebase a bit for future support, and some other stuff.
At this point, I “think” most of the big ticket tricks are worked out. I did notice when I imported all the posts it seems that even though the authors were specified and mapped, they weren’t inserted correctly. So I’ll have to go back and fix all of those.
Still deciding whether or not to stick up the list of feeds from Fox Sports and the couple other headlines we had available. Also need to get the links back up and such, but those are minor at this point.
Then, it’s on to testing the somewhat hidden feature(s) before making them available.

funinteresting.Well, we’re getting closer now.
Few minor things here and there, and a ton of file moving going on still. Most of it’s all wrapped up though, so it’s time to test it now.
Still need to get the users online display back on track, but other than that I (think/hope) that we’re back and rolling.
Comments are working fine, loading well, and all that good stuff. New pages added (linked soon), and only a couple more runs to try.
Finally. I tell ya what, it’s been a long weekend already!
Wow Marc. Looks like the throttle is way down on your site. I still can’t hit it.
And I had a nice quip for your last post too. Not that I can remember it now, but it was good. Or so I thought at the time.
